Mataram, University of Mataram — The implementation of the Computer-Based Written Examination for the National Selection Based on Tests (UTBK-SNBT) 2026 at the University of Mataram (Unram) once again demonstrates the university’s commitment to providing inclusive access to higher education. This year, a total of 14,581 participants took the UTBK at Unram, including five participants with disabilities and diverse special needs.

The five participants include individuals with physical disabilities, hearing impairments, and visual impairments. To ensure that all participants could take the exam optimally, Unram, through its Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK), prepared special testing facilities and provided assistance from committee members throughout the process.

One of the participants with disabilities taking the UTBK-SNBT at Unram was Alwa Suci Ristiyani, commonly known as Alwa, a person with a physical disability from Kediri, Gelogor Village. Met on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at UPA TIK Unram, Alwa shared her journey in preparing for the UTBK.

She admitted that she began studying seriously again after not passing the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP). “I actually started studying again two days after I didn’t pass SNBP. Before that, I had been studying little by little since the beginning of 12th grade, but I experienced burnout. After the announcement, I immediately got back up and tried my best,” she said.

Alwa chose the Informatics Engineering study program due to her interest in computers. She acknowledged the intense competition in the program but remained optimistic about her efforts. “Math is indeed my weak point, but I’ve done my best to answer the calculation questions,” she added.

At the end of the interview, Alwa also shared a motivational message for other participants who will take the exam. “Stay motivated, tackle the questions. If possible, don’t get stuck on one question—just enjoy the process,” she said.

The implementation of UTBK-SNBT also reflects the Unram’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), through the provision of inclusive and equitable access to higher education for all prospective students.
