Unram Commemorates the 2026 Birth of Pancasila in a Solemn Ceremony
Mataram, University of Mataram — The University of Mataram (Unram) convened the 2026 Commemoration Ceremony of the Birth of Pancasila at the Rectorate Field on Monday, June 1, 2026. The solemn ceremony was attended by the Rector, faculty members, and academic staff, serving as a tribute to the noble values of Pancasila as the nation’s foundational philosophy and guiding ideology.
In the official address of the Head of the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Development (BPIP RI), delivered by the Rector of Unram, Prof. Dr. Sukardi, M.Pd., participants were called upon to regard the commemoration of the Birth of Pancasila as a moment of reflection and renewal, reinforcing the importance of living out Pancasila’s values in daily life.
Carrying the theme “Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of World Peace,†this year’s commemoration underscores the strategic role of Pancasila as the adhesive of Indonesia’s diversity and as a set of values relevant to addressing global challenges. Amid rapid technological advances, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and various threats of division, Pancasila continues to stand as a moral foundation safeguarding national unity and resilience.
Prof. Sukardi further emphasized that Indonesia bears the responsibility to contribute to the creation of world peace, as mandated by the 1945 Constitution.
“The values of deliberation, humanity, and justice contained in Pancasila are vital assets for Indonesia in fostering dialogue, bridging differences, and promoting the realization of just and lasting peace,†he affirmed.
Furthermore, the younger generation is expected to serve as guardians and inheritors of Pancasila’s values amid the currents of change. Economic and technological progress must go hand in hand with the strengthening of character, tolerance, and national spirit so that the vision of an advanced and just Indonesia can be realized.
Through the 2026 Commemoration of the Birth of Pancasila, the academic community of Unram once again reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding unity, honoring diversity, and practicing the values of Pancasila in social, national, and state life.
