Faculty of Law and APHKI International Conference, Raised the Issue of Intellectual Property Rights

Mataram, Universitas Mataram – The Faculty of Law, University of Mataram (FH Unram) together with the Association of Intellectual Property Law Teachers (APHKI) held an International Conference & Call for Papers intellectual property rights in the Senate Meeting Room, Rectorate of Unram on Thursday (13/10) to Saturday (15/10).
This international conference took the theme “Optimizing Intellectual Property Product for Public Welfare”. And is part of the series of activities for the 60th Anniversary of Unram.
Dr. H. Hirsanuddin, S.H., M.Hum. as the Dean of FH Unram said that this conference was attended by 53 delegates from the Faculty of Law throughout Indonesia. With about 150 conference attendees participating. On this occasion, FH Unram with APHKI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) conducted by the Dean of FH Unram and the Chairman of APHKI, Prof. Dr. Ok Saidin, S.H., M.Hum.
“There are several collaborations that are in progress that are being carried out with partners of the Faculty of Law, Unram. Among others, with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Utrecht University in the Netherlands and Maspank University,” added Dr. Hirsanuddin.
Prof. Dr. OK. Saidin, S.H., M.Hum., Chairman of APHKI explained that at this international conference, it discussed several important topics, such as the Covid-19 vaccine and patent welfare, policies in the field of intellectual property rights that support the creative economy, the implementation of various tourism policies based on traditional cultural expressions to strengthen economic recovery, and several important themes related to other intellectual property rights.
It was also conveyed that the theme of this international conference is closely related to three main priority issues that require collective action globally.
“Related to the theme of our seminar today which is related to the theme of this year’s G20 Presidency meeting, namely; RecoverIng Together Recovers Stronger. And regarding economic recovery, it is undeniable that the issue of intellectual property rights to the Creative Economy, will be an important theme in the discussion of the G20 meeting,” said the Chairman of APHKI.
Furthermore, the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. hopes that through this international conference, it can provide solutions to the challenges and problems that exist to protect intellectual property rights. So that it can be useful for the welfare of the nation and improve the nation’s economy, and will be beneficial for the Indonesian nation to be developed, just, prosperous, and prosperous.
There were several speakers from abroad presented, namely Prof. Iren Calboli from Singapore Management University and Prof. Bryan Mercurio from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Furthermore, speakers from within the country, Prof. Nurul Barizah, S.H., LLM., Ph.D. from Universitas Airlangga, and L. M. Hayyanul Haq, S.H., LLM., Ph.D. from Mataram University. The conference was moderated by Dwi Martini, S.H., M.H., a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Sheffield.
