The University of Mataram Signed MoU with UPSI Malaysia. Focuses on Collaboration in Education

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Tanjong Malim, Malaysia.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by Unram Rector, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. with UPSI Vice Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Md. Amin Bin Md. Taff.

This agenda was also attended by Vice Rector for Cooperation, Planning and Information Systems Unram, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., M.Sc. (Eng.), Ph.D. and Head of International Affairs Office Unram, Prof. Ir. Dahlanuddin, M.Rur.Sc., Ph.D. Meanwhile, UPSI also attended the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Prof. Dr. Marzita binti Puteh and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Dr. Norkhalid bin Salimin.

Unram Rector explained the collaboration with UPSI Malaysia focuses on education. “We continue to collaborate in the scope of the tri dharma of higher education, but because UPSI is strong in the field of education, we emphasize more cooperation in the field of education,” said Prof. Bambang.

One form of cooperation that has been carried out between Unram and UPSI is student exchange, where Unram has sent PKL students from the Master of Education Administration to UPSI in 2022 with 54 students and in 2023 with 44 students. The activities which carried out during the student exchange took place including a Joint Seminar between Unram students and UPSI, a Joint Lecture by 2 UPSI lecturers and 1 Unram lecturer, and a review of educational facilities and museums.

Prof. Bambang also mentioned the future collaboration plans between Unram and UPSI, including Unram will conduct Join Research and Join Publication, as well as Ad Joint Professor. UPSI will also give lectures at Master of Educational Administration Unram, and UPSI offered Unram lecturers to teach at UPSI.

“With the opportunity to teach at UPSI, our lecturers can go international,” said Unram Rector.

Unram Rector hopes that, this collaboration can be a supporting pillar for the development and progress of the two universities in the field of education, namely Unram and UPSI.
