The Institute of Research and Community Service Unram Officially Withdraws the Community Service Program-PMD Students
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Community Service Program Unit of the Institute of Research and Community Service University of Mataram carried out the procession of withdrawing all Community Service Program students from the Village for the July-August 2023 period. This activity was carried out on a regular basis. Hybrid via Zoom Meeting and took place in the Main Meeting Room of Institute of Research and Community Service Unram on Thursday (10/8).
The withdrawal activity was attended directly by the Head of institute Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr. accompanied by the Secretary of institute Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP.; Research Coordinator Prof. Buan Anshari, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng.), Ph.D .; Collaboration Coordinator and Community Service Program Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, S.T., M.T.; and Field Supervisors in each village; as well as students participating in the Community Service Program in 2023.
In the presentation of the report of the Cooperation and program Coordinator, Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, S.T., M.T. stated that the implementation of the program within a period of approximately 52 days or an effective 45 days had been carried out properly.
“Alhamdulillah, in this period we have been able to reduce the number of accidents very little and it is almost said that there were no accidents. This is what we hope for and of course this is part of our efforts to ensure the safety of younger students who are at the location so that the student mobility in the village is reduced as much as possible even during Eid Al-Adha,” he explained.
One note that is important for Community managers to improve the management of Community Service Program, so that, it runs as comfortably as possible and the students can produce real work programs to help empower the people in the village. It was also conveyed that there were 1,494 students deployed in this period spread across 151 villages with distribution in West Lombok Regency there were 41 Villages, North Lombok 20 Villages, East Lombok 32 Villages, Dompu Regency 8 Villages, and West Sumbawa Regency there were 5 villages.
Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr. as the Head of Institite of Research and Community Service Unram officially withdrew Students, he said, the students had carried out their participatory activities in the community well in all programs, both the main program and additional programs running.
“Actually, I also went to North Lombok at the LDPM collaboration activity event with the PEMDA there regarding meetings and assessments of creative villages in North Lombok and in his remarks the Regent emphasized the results of the creative village meeting activities. So, it is hoped that the students will carry out activities that will subsequently oversee and assist creative villages in North Lombok, which of course creative villages are built based on existing potential, “explained Sukartono.
In addition, this year’s Collaborative activities with the Government of Dompu include the distribution of Community Service Program students in 8 villages and 5 locations in West Sumbawa Regency.
“So after the program, the students don’t stop interacting with your friends, please say goodbye to the Village Heads. Of course, there are many important impressions that hopefully will become a record in the history of your life. And especially to the Regency of Government, on behalf of the Rector, I would like to express my highest gratitude and appreciation, “continued the Head of Institute.
This withdrawal activity also provided space for several heads of Villages to convey their messages, impressions, and hopes for the future distribution of Community Service Program students to their villages. In his testimony, the Head of Meraran Village, West Sumbawa Regency, conveyed his impression, “Thank you. Alhamdulillah, I am the Head of Meraran Village, West Sumbawa Regency, in this case, the Community Service Program provided many lessons for our residents. Alhamdulillah, in 45 days there were many work programs that always carried out in the village to transmit their knowledge to the community, so that, our community can be open to the current knowledge,” he said.
In addition, the Head of Sembalun Village, Timba Gading, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency, also stated that the Community Service Program-PMD participants were very helpful in carrying out activities in the village, especially in increasing MSMEs. “The programs for younger siblings that are outlined in the implementation of the Community Serevice Program 2023, namely the production of masks and thank God the progress can be said to have reached 75% and some are 100%. We can say that for production, whether it’s training for MSMEs, we have reached 100%. This is the achievement of the students how they teach our community, especially in the field of MSMEs to increase the results. Therefore, we are grateful to the KKN students for teaching our community how to package good production and so on,” he said.
It is hoped that this Community Service Program-PMD student withdrawal activity will be focused and sustainable, so that problems in the villages can be resolved in stages and in a sustainable manner.
