The Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemensesneg RI) Discussed International Agreement Bill with the Faculty of Law Unram

Mataram, the University of Mataram – The Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemensesneg RI) held a discussion regarding the Draft Law on International Agreements with the International Law Section of the Faculty of Law, University of Mataram (FH Unram). It took place the courtroom of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Mataram, Wednesday (6/ 9/2023) ago.

This discussion was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, FH Unram, Dr. H. Kaharuddin, SH, MH.; Head of the International Law Section, Dr. Risnain, SH, MH.; as well as all lecturers in the International Law section.

This discussion aims to exchange ideas and information related to a clear separation regarding International Agreements which can be ratified by internal considerations through Laws or International Agreements which can be ratified by external considerations through Presidential Regulations and International Agreements which require ratification by the DPR RI in accordance with the Decision. Constitutional Court.

In addition, the issues related to adjusting the use of various constitutional terms in statutory regulations were also discussed, considering that the Law relating to International Agreements was last promulgated in 2000.

The results of the meeting produced several suggestions, including: The material for the International Agreement Bill should regulate in more detail regarding broad criteria, the burden on state finances, people’s lives and international agreements by Regional Governments that could be considered to accelerate investment, tourism and other potential sectors.
