Synergy between Unram and Gridwiz South Korea to Develop Solar-Powered Personal Mobility and Renewable Energy Projects
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) received a visit from Gridwiz, a South Korean company that focuses on renewable energy on Wednesday (24/1) in the Rector’s Conference Room, Unram Rectorate.
The visit discussed the Solar Powered Personal Mobility Sharing Project, with the purpose to implement green technology to support environmental sustainability specifically in the Unram area and will continue to be developed in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo expressed his support for the project proposed by Gridwiz. “This meeting is a great opportunity for Unram and Gridwiz to collaborate and discuss the details of cooperation strategies and plans for environmentally friendly electronic mobility sharing solutions and sustainable energy solutions,” said Prof. Bambang.
During the meeting with Gridwiz CEO, Junewoo Ryu and Global Business Division Director, Xion Seoungha Shin, it was explained that Gridwiz develops charging technology for electric vehicles, ranging from electric bicycles to cars that are environmentally friendly and more affordable, using solar panels with application-based management.
“We plan to start this project in the University of Mataram campus area as we recognise the great potential in this community to adopt and support sustainable innovation. The University of Mataram has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and sustainable education, which aligns with Gridwiz’s values in developing green energy solutions,” said Gridwiz CEO.
Formerly, Unram and Gridwiz have signed a memorandum of understanding in September 2023. And Gridwiz hopes that in the future they can sign a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with faculties in Unram regarding the planned internship program that Gridwiz will provide to Unram students, as well as research and development that can be conducted together.
The meeting was also attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs; Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems; Deans; and a delegate from PT Ines, Aditya Syafiq Lazuardi.
