Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) has taken steps to provide a more disability-friendly Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK) test site to support inclusion and accessibility. This is one of Unram’s determination to provide more equal opportunities for students and prospective students with various needs.

This is fully supported by the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., in his opportunity to monitor the comfort of UTBK participants with disabilities, he expressed his commitment.

“We, University of Mataram, are committed to serve, not only those who do not experience disabilities, but also those who experience disabilities, for example blind disabilities, we prepare assistants starting from them getting off the vehicle, then accompanying them, guiding them to their seats, in front of their computers, then starting the test and so on there is an assistant. Because those who are blind, of course, they rely on their hearing ability, “explained Prof. Bambang.

To ensure this, the Rector of Unram visited the UTBK test location directly. “Earlier I saw directly, he was provided with a special room, because there were sounds that had to be heard, so they were separated from those who did not have disabilities. And we also prepare a special assistant, a special supervisor who accompanies him until the end,” he continued.

As  leader, the Professor of the Faculty of Agriculture not only provides facilities for those who are visually impaired, but also for those who are physically challenged.

“We prepare assistants and those who help the test takers to sit in their places to be able to carry out the test. So, whatever form of disability they have, we at Unram are ready to guide, direct, and help them until they can take the test, their rights to take the test and their rights to access education,” he concluded.
