Mataram, University of Mataram – Universitas Mataram (Unram) has held a socialization for Unram security guards regarding the forms of sexual violence regulated in the Sexual Violence Crime Law and Permendikbudristek No. 30 of 2021. The socialization was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

In the event, the Head of Unram’s Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (“PPKS Task Force”), Joko Jumadi, acted as a resource person.

“We hope that security guards, as the front guard of Unram, can understand the forms of sexual violence and understand the risks associated with such behavior,” he explained.

In the future, the Unram PPKS Task Force will also conduct roadshows to each faculty at Unram and provide special socialization to cleaning service staff.

Answering public concerns, especially students, students who see or experience sexual violence can report the incident through the PPKS Task Force HOTLINE at 0817751444.

“If there are perpetrators who are proven to have committed sexual violence, it is possible for the PPKS task force to impose sanctions. There is one person who was sentenced to severe sanctions in the form of dismissal, but is still waiting for the results of the court’s decision. Currently we are also processing a student report with a reported lecturer,” said Joko.

With this socialization, it is hoped that awareness of the importance of preventing and dealing with sexual violence on campus will increase. Unram is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for the entire academic community. All forms of sexual violence will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted strictly in accordance with applicable law.
