Unram signs MoU with Leibinz Institute for Baltic Sea Research
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Rector of the University of Mataram (Unram), Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Leibinz Institute for Baltic Sea Research on Monday (1/7) in the Rector’s Conference Room, Unram Rectorate.
Leibinz Institute for Baltic Sea Research is a research institute that focuses on interdisciplinary studies of coastal and marginal seas, especially on oceanography related to the Baltic Sea.
On this occasion, representatives from the Leibinz Institute for Baltic Sea Research explained how polluted water affects the life of coral reefs and explained the discovery of bacterial content that has polluted the water. The results of the research will be disseminated in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Prof. Bambang as the Rector of Unram warmly welcomed this collaboration opportunity, “Thank you for the cooperation opportunity that has been given to us to sign.”
“We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration because research on water pollution and its impact on coral reefs is very relevant to the condition of waters in Indonesia. Through this collaboration, we hope to increase our research capacity and make a real contribution to efforts to preserve our marine environment,” he added.
Furthermore, the Leibinz Institute for Baltic Sea Research also revealed that cooperation with Unram was an extraordinary collaboration. “Unram is an extraordinary partner for us because it is very supportive, comfortable so that it makes an extraordinary collaboration for us,” she said.
The event ended with a souvenir giving session and a group photo, marking the beginning of a collaboration that is expected to bring great benefits to both parties, especially in the field of oceanographic research and marine environmental protection.
