Unram and Shangrao Normal University Strengthen Global Cooperation through Double Degree Program and Multidimensional Collaboration
Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) strengthens its position in order to become a world-class university through the signing of an Implementation Agreement with Shangrao Normal University on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Rector’s Conference Room, Unram Rectorate.
The signing of the Implementation of Agreement marks a new chapter of strategic cooperation between the two universities, especially in the implementation of Double Degree programs for the Undergraduate Management and Diploma in Tourism Study Programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), as well as the Undergraduate English Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Unram.
Rector of Unram, Prof. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St, Ph.D., in his speech expressed his pride for this cooperation. “We are pleased to host the students of Shangrao Normal University who have been here since November 10 and will stay until November 18 to experience cultural and academic experiences in Indonesia. Their presence also gives a new shade to this international cooperation,” he said.
Prof. Bambang also expressed his hopes for the future of this collaboration, including the establishment of a Research Center in Tourism at Unram’s Faculty of Economics and Business. This cooperation is an important milestone to strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
“We hope to expand this cooperation into joint research programs, teaching Indonesian at Shangrao Normal University, to the full realization of Double Degree and Joint Degree programs next year,” he added.
In addition, collaboration between the two universities has also been running through the establishment of the Cultural and Tourism Exchange Center which provides Chinese culture and language learning facilities for Unram students. “We are honored to be able to share experiences through guest lectures from Shangrao Normal University who have contributed their knowledge to teach Mandarin to our students. We welcome wider opportunities to build stronger relationships in the future,” said Prof. Bambang.
President of Shangrao Normal University, Prof. Yin Jian in his speech expressed his impressions of the spirit of learning of Unram students and expressed openness to all potential cooperation. “We are very amazed to see the enthusiasm of the students here. Shangrao Normal University has a lot of potential for cooperation that can be explored, and we are happy to welcome Unram lecturers and students to our university to experience the culture and education there,” he said.
This event not only marks formal cooperation in educational programs, but also a moment to discuss various other collaboration opportunities in the future, including joint research initiatives and cultural exchanges.
