Unram Warmly Welcomes Santriwati from Ponpes Nurul Haramain NW Narmada in Campus Exploration and Socialisation of PMB 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) warmly welcomed the visit of more than 200 santriwati of Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Nurul Haramain NW Narmada at the Unram Dome on Wednesday, 5 February 2025. This visit aims to introduce Unram to the 12th grade students and provide insights related to the entry ways to Unram or other universities.

During this visit, the santri were shown a video profile of Unram, and continued with Unram socialisation activities delivered by the Head of Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs, Dwi Suswanto, S.Kom., M.M.. The socialisation included an explanation of the various entry points to Unram including the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), and Independent selection.

In addition, they were also introduced to various faculties and study programmes available at Unram, facilities, Student Activity Units (UKM), and various scholarships offered by Unram. In this activity, the santriwati were given the opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session to dig deeper into the information they needed.

Dwi Suswanto in his delivery also did not forget to provide tips and tricks to be more easily accepted as a student at Unram, namely by compiling a vision and mission for yourself. Having a clear vision and mission in pursuing higher education in college is an important step for students to understand their goals early on. The students can be more focused in choosing a study programme that suits their interests and talents, as well as prepare themselves better to face the challenges in the world of lectures.

“What we want to be, our vision and mission must be clear. So that we are not like running water that is carried away by the current. The direction must be clear so that the plan can also be prepared more carefully,” he said.

He also advised that to increase the chances of entering universities in Unram, the students must try to enter through national channels such as SNBP or SNBT. However, for students who do not pass through these pathways, do not give up because Unram also opens the Independent selection as the last pathway.

In addition, if choosing more than one study program, then the students should consider Unram in the first choice to be prioritised because basically all universities will definitely select or consider more for students who prioritise them.

To conclude the series of activities, the socialisation was ended by capturing the moment with a group photo session. The atmosphere of togetherness and cheerfulness radiated from the faces of the santriwati who enthusiastically followed the entire series of events. This visit not only provided new insights for them, but also increased their enthusiasm and motivation to continue their studies at Unram. Many of them expressed their determination to try harder in studying in order to be accepted at Unram and realise their dreams at a higher education level.
