The prevalence of diseases that attack the respiratory system is a serious concern for health workers. In her remarks, Unram’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Siti Hilyana, explained that a significant number of people on small islands are affected by acute respiratory infections (ARI). “The focus of FKIK Unram is indeed on island health, considering the large number of ARI cases that are closely related to pulmonology. There are many people on small islands who suffer from ARI, so this assessment is very relevant to improve the quality of the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Study Program, “she said.

Deputy Director of Services at the NTB Provincial Hospital, dr. Qomarul Islamiyati, Sp.Kj., also expressed his appreciation for this assessment. According to her, the prevalence of pulmonology cases, both infectious and non-infectious, continues to increase, so real steps are needed in improving the quality of education in this field.
