Strengthening Collaboration, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Meets Campus Leaders and Regional Officials in NTB

Mataram, University of Mataram – A hospitality event with the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Diktisaintek RI) was held on Saturday evening, 19 April 2025, at the Hall of the Mayor of Mataram. The event was part of the Deputy Minister’s working visit to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province and was attended by a number of university leaders and regional officials.
The Deputy Mayor of Mataram, TGH. Mujiburrahman, S.H., M.Pd., officially welcomed the Deputy Minister, Prof. Dr Fauzan M.Pd. and his entourage. Also attending the event was the Rector of University of Mataram (Unram), Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., along with the Vice Rectors and faculty leaders. Several rectors and vice rectors from private universities in NTB also participated.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister expressed his hope that this visit could strengthen cooperation between universities, local governments, and other stakeholders.
“We are here in Lombok, especially in NTB, in order to build a strong synergy between universities and the government, with other stakeholders. Together we realise a revolution to overcome the problems in this area,” said Prof. Fauzan.
The Deputy Mayor of Mataram in his speech expressed his welcome to the Deputy Minister and his entourage. He hopes that this activity will open a space for dialogue and collaboration for the advancement of higher education in NTB.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Unram said that the presence of the Deputy Minister was a motivation for universities in NTB to continue to increase their role in regional development, especially through strengthening cross-sector synergies.
The event was closed with a dinner together, which took place in an intimate and warm atmosphere, marking a joint commitment in building a more advanced higher education and having an impact on the region.
