Mataram, University of Mataram – On Thursday, 5 June 2025, the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of the University of Mataram (Unram) held a briefing and vision synchronisation session with the entire academic community as a strategic step towards making Unram an excellent and globally competitive university. The event was held in the Main Meeting Room of LPPM Unram.

Present at the event were the Head of LPPM Unram, Dr. Andi Chairil Ichsan, S.Hut., M.Si., accompanied by the Secretary, I Wayan Sudiarta, Ph.D., and the Head of the General Affairs Section, Roni Paslan, S.Adm., along with all LPPM Unram staff.

At the beginning of the briefing, Dr. Andi emphasised the importance of aligning the vision and policy direction with the spirit of institutional transformation. Several strategic focuses were also outlined to strengthen LPPM’s contributions in the fields of research, community service, and innovation.

One of the main focuses is increasing the number of reputable international publications and securing competitive national grants, which will be achieved through strengthening support systems, conducting structured technical guidance (bimtek), and providing publication support desks.

“Strengthening the management of nationally and internationally accredited journals (Scopus) is also a priority, through the development of Sister Journals, enhancing the capacity of journal managers, and optimising IT systems and journal data security,” said Dr. Andi.

To support the process of writing high-quality research proposals, LPPM has also designed a new initiative in the development of a Publication House, which will provide scheduled and scheme-based assistance and training services for proposal writing.

Furthermore, Dr. Andi emphasised that in terms of scientific promotion, LPPM is strengthening the management of scientific conferences, particularly international conferences indexed by Scopus and WoS, as well as research exhibitions, research expos, and awards for outstanding research innovations.

In the field of community service, the implementation of Community Service Learning (KKN) is directed to be more impactful and sustainable. This is done through strategic mapping of location needs, the application of appropriate and measurable intervention models, and the development of a roadmap based on local potential and a problem-solving approach.

Additionally, the LPPM is revitalising and capitalising on Research Centres (PUSLIT) and Business and Innovation Groups (KUBINOV) through institutional activation, strengthening business processes, and streamlining organisational structures.

Strengthening cooperation, both at the national and global levels, is also a key priority, involving the formation of a solid cooperation team, the streamlining of systems and business processes, and the expansion of collaborative networks.

LPPM Secretary. I Wayan Sudiarta, Ph.D., added, “LPPM’s governance, infrastructure, and institutional framework are also being strengthened as the primary foundation for creating professional, adaptive, and results-oriented services.”

Through this briefing and synchronisation, LPPM Unram demonstrates its commitment to becoming a driving force for high-quality, relevant, and impactful research and community service, in order to realise Unram as a world-class university with global competitiveness.
