Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) held the university-level Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) at the Unram Guest House on Saturday, June 14, 2025. This annual event aims to identify and select the university’s top students to represent Unram at the regional level of the competition, and eventually at the national level.

This year’s PIilmapres selection carries the theme “Impactful Campus: Creating Innovative Solutions for a Sustainable Indonesia.” The theme reflects the direction of higher education transformation—becoming more adaptive, collaborative, and aligned with contemporary challenges. Students are expected not only to think critically, but also to produce tangible works and solution-oriented actions that bring positive impact to society and the surrounding environment.

Pilmapres is a prestigious event that not only assesses academic achievements but also explores students’ potential in presenting ideas, formulating solutions to strategic issues, and demonstrating concrete contributions to social life. In this year’s university-level selection, nine outstanding students from various faculties at Unram participated in a rigorous selection process.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T., stated in his opening remarks that this activity serves as a reflection of the university’s learning process.

“This event is our effort to capture of how successful our teaching and learning process has been. Today, we are looking for the best among Unram’s high-achieving students,” he said.

The assessment aspects in this year’s PILMAPRES selection covered various essential components, starting from the students’ portfolio of outstanding achievements in both academic and non-academic fields, to a creative idea paper addressing strategic issues such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Industrial Revolution 4.0, Impactful Campus, and Priority Programs from Asta Cita. In addition, participants were evaluated on their English language proficiency, critical thinking skills, teamwork, creativity, initiative, and self-confidence demonstrated throughout the selection process.

A panel of judges comprising lecturers from various academic disciplines conducted the evaluation based on objectivity and nationally established standards. Through this event, Unram reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of students’ potential, character, and achievements, nurturing a generation that is solution-oriented and impactful.
