Unram Hospital Officially Reopens, Poised to Serve as a Premier Teaching and Service Hospital

Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram Hospital ( Unram Hospital) officially reopened on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 after completing the renovation process under the 2024 Construction in Progress Project (KDP). This reopening was an important moment after a long wait since the beginning of the hospital’s construction in 2010.

Director of Unram Hospital, Dr. Akhada Maulana, Sp.U., MARS, in his speech expressed his deep gratitude for the completion of the renovation process. He appreciated the support from the leadership of Unram and the previous directors of Unram Hospital who had laid the initial foundation for the development of the hospital. Since reopening in April 2025, Unram Hospital has served 2,254 outpatients during the June, and experienced a significant increase in inpatients and surgeries.

“Unram Hospital now has 100 beds with a wide selection of inpatient classes, complete with air conditioning and 24-hour hot water toilets. This facility is part of the implementation of the BPJS Health Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) program,” Akhada explained.

In addition to becoming a health service center, Unram Hospital also functions as an educational hospital for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Unram and a research center, especially in the development of medical science and stem cells.

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Unram, Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, said that Unram Hospital is an important place in supporting the education process of prospective doctors, addressing the need for a large number of doctors, as well as being at the frontline in addressing public health issues.

“With the existence of Unram Hospital, we hope to continue to contribute in strengthening health services and medical education in NTB,” she said.
