Mataram, University of Mataram – Seven selected students from the University of Mataram (Unram) have made the university proud by showcasing remarkable performance at the ASIAN Undergraduate Symposium (AUS) 2025, held in Singapore from July 7–19, and hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS). This marks the second consecutive year Unram has participated in the prestigious international program.

The delegates were chosen through a competitive internal selection process held by the Office of International Affairs (OIA Unram). This year’s representatives are:

  • Adib Aliansyah Putra Smith (International Relations)

  • Mahben Subhan Azizun Hakim (Law)

  • Novia Afifah Arsandy (Law)

  • Prily Wiske Widiya Putri (English Education)

  • Aluh Rizki Alia (Law)

  • Nurul Qalbi Zahrani (Informatics Engineering)

  • Fiki Adrian (Development Economics)

The AUS 2025 carried the theme: “Sustainability, Regeneration, Interconnected Communities, Heritage and Culture, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” Organized annually by NUS College, the two-week program brought together undergraduate students from across Asia to engage in cross-cultural exchange, capacity building, and collaborative innovation.

During the symposium, students actively participated in more than five thematic lectures and panel discussions, covering key issues such as sustainability and regeneration, diversity and inclusion, and heritage and culture. Beyond lectures, the program included learning journeys, cultural night activities, fireside chats with professionals, and intensive project-based mentoring sessions.

Participants were divided into 48 multinational project teams, each tasked with developing and presenting innovative solutions to regional challenges. The top eight project groups will be awarded SGD 5,000 in seed funding to further implement their initiatives. In 2024, one Unram student was part of a winning team, and it is hoped that this year’s delegates will continue that success, with the 2025 project evaluation currently underway.

Unram takes immense pride in its student delegates, whose achievements reflect the university’s ongoing commitment to international engagement, academic excellence, and youth empowerment. Participation in programs such as AUS continues to open global pathways for Unram students and foster collaborative networks across the region.
