BAN-PT Assessment Team Conducts Field Assessment at Unram’s Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry

Mataram, University Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) welcomed the Assessor Team from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT) to conduct a field assessment for two study programs, the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) and the Undergraduate Program in Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry (Fatepa). The assessment took place from October 6-8, 2025, at the Unram Rectorate and both faculties.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., who expressed his appreciation for the presence of the assessment team and reaffirmed Unram’s commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of higher education in various study programs.

The assessor team consisted of accomplished academics in their respective fields, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Latief Abadi, M.S (Brawijaya University); Prof. Dr. Supratman, S.Hut., M.P. (Hasanuddin University); Prof. Dr. Yudi Pranoto, S.T.P., M.P (Gadjah Mada University); and Prof. Dr. Ir. Feri Kusnandar, M.Sc. (Bogor Agricultural University).

In his speech, one of the assessors conveyed that their presence was not meant to find faults, but rather to work together to improve various aspects that had been developed by the university.

“We are not here to interrogate you, we are not the Corruption Eradication Commission,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Latief Abadi, M.S., greeted by warm laughter from the participants.

“We just want to confirm and refine what you have submitted. Don’t be nervous, we are here as colleagues, not as superiors and subordinates,” he added.

Another assessor emphasized the importance of cooperation between universities and BAN-PT in maintaining and improving the quality of national education. He said that all assessors were present with the same goal, to ensure that the quality of education is maintained and improved. According to him, the assessment was not merely a form of evaluation, but also a joint effort to monitor and strengthen the quality of education in Indonesia.

Through this assessment, Unram hopes that both study programs will obtain the best accreditation results and use this momentum as a concrete step in strengthening their commitment to the quality of education, research, and community service.
