Mataram, University of Mataram – On Saturday, 18 October 2025, University of Mataram (Unram) handed over savings books and ATM cards to 1447 students who received the Indonesia Smart Card for Higher Education (KIP-K) for 2025 at the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium. The handover was attended by Bank BTN as a partner, and hundreds of students from various faculties who successfully qualified for and received the KIP-K scholarship for 2025.

The Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T., in his speech, explained the purpose of this scholarship programme and motivated students to make the most of it.

“We strive for this programme to be a step towards financial equality, so that the students present today can become graduates who can improve the welfare of their respective families. The global objective is also included in one of the SDGs, which aims to break the chain of poverty, improve human welfare, and achieve educational equality,” he said.

He also reminded the students that there are things that must be considered after receiving a scholarship, such as studying diligently in both academic and non-academic fields.

“Do not forget to study and maintain the best GPA. It is also important to note that while pursuing your studies at Unram, you should also develop your soft skills to prepare for the world of work. In addition, Unram has facilitated the establishment of student clubs so that students can be active in organisations,” he added.

Alem Wijaya, Grand Manager of Bank BTN, which is Unram’s partner in the KIP-K scholarship programme, provided guidance and encouraged all students to make the best use of the scholarships they have received.

“As Unram’s partner, we have a role to play in anticipating the current trend of online loans (pinjol) or the new phenomenon of online gambling (judol). Therefore, we strongly urge that this scholarship not be used for those two purposes, as it is intended for students to excel and make a greater contribution to society,” he said.

To ensure the smooth running of this event, the Bidikmisi Student Forum (Formadiksi) and KIP-K Unram were also present to assist students who needed help. As stated by the Chair of Formadiksi, M. Hulbayan, “Those of you who have made it to this stage and received scholarships are truly extraordinary. We are here to remind everyone not to easily believe rumours about scholarships, including the KIP-K scholarship. So if you encounter any problems or have any questions, we can help.”

With this scholarship programme, it is hoped that it will foster motivation and enthusiasm for learning among students to enhance both their academic and non-academic skills. Additionally, it is hoped that Unram will produce graduates of high integrity who contribute to the nation and state.
