Unram Embodies the Spirit of ‘Impact for the Nation: Food Sovereignty, Strong Generations, and a Great Nation’ through the Series of Events Commemorating Its 63rd Dies Natalis

Mataram, University of Mataram — The University of Mataram (Unram) has officially commenced the series of events marking its 63rd Dies Natalis, carrying the central theme Impact for the Nation: Food Sovereignty, Strong Generations, and a Great Nation. This year’s Dies Natalis celebration runs from October to December 2025, featuring a diverse array of academic, social, and community service activities that reflect the Unram’s commitment to sustainability and its meaningful contributions to the nation.
This major theme reflects Unram’s determination to continue to be a university that not only excels in education and research, but also has an impact on the wider community. Impact on the Country is the main pillar that affirms the role of universities in national development, while Food Sovereignty, Strong Generation, Great Nation illustrates the close links between food independence, human resource strength, and national progress.
This philosophical meaning is visualized through the 63rd Dies Natalis logo, which is inspired by rice grains as a symbol of resilience and food sovereignty. The interconnected lines depict the unlimited connection between generations, as well as the continuity between the present and the future. This logo reinforces the profound message that food sovereignty creates a strong generation, and from a strong generation comes a great nation.
To interpret this theme in a tangible way, Unram presented a series of anniversary activities that lasted for three full months. The activities began with a Campus Arrangement Competition as a form of commitment to the environment and green campus space management. This event was followed by an Innovation Contest and PEPADU Seminar, which provided a platform for students and lecturers to showcase their ideas, research, and innovations in support of sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Social activities such as Blood Donation, Free Health Checkups, Mangrove Planting, and Social Service demonstrate Unram’s concern for public health and nature conservation. Meanwhile, the Rector Cup strengthens the unity and sportsmanship among the academic community.
Ahead of the peak celebrations in December 2025, Unram will hold a Scientific Oration by Bappenas RI, an International Seminar, the NTB National Creative Economy Movement (Gekrafs), Unram Expo 2025, a Job Fair, and the Unram Awards as a tribute to outstanding campus figures.
Through a series of activities taking place from October to December 2025, Unram reaffirms its commitment to continue making an impact on the nation, strengthening food sovereignty, nurturing outstanding generations, and contributing to the realization of a great nation towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
