University of Mataram Welcomes an Educational Visit from SMK/MA Generasi Muslim Cendekia

Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) welcomed an educational visit from Vocational High School and Islamic High School Generasi Muslim Cendekia on Tuesday (21/10) at the Senate Conference Room on the 3rd floor of the Unram Rectorate Building. A total of 100 students and accompanying teachers participated in the Campus Tour to learn more about the campus environment and the higher education system.
The visit was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau of Unram, Dwi Suswanto, S.Kom., M.M., who introduced the history and development of Unram. In his speech, he explained that Unram, which was established in 1962, now has nine faculties and one postgraduate program.
“Unram not only focuses on academic ability in the classroom, but also encourages students to be active in student organizations, as it is where they learn communication, collaboration, and leadership skills that are essential in the world of work,” he said.
In addition to introducing the faculties and admission pathways for new students, which include SNBP, SNBT, and the Mandiri pathway, he also emphasized the importance of balancing hard skills and soft skills as the key to future success.
On the other hand, the school’s welcome speech was delivered by the Principal of SMK Islam Terpadu Generasi Muslim Cendekia, Sofyan S.Pd., who explained that this Campus Tour activity is part of a program to introduce students to the campus environment so they can understand the direction of their studies according to their talents and interests.
“We designed this program so that our children can get to know various faculties and study programs more closely. The hope is that they can choose a major that suits their abilities and aspirations,” he said.
The representative of the MA Generasi Muslim Cendekia, Samira Ulfa, S.Pd., also expressed her appreciation to Unram for the warm welcome. She emphasized the importance of this activity in introducing students to scholarship opportunities and further study opportunities at universities.
“We hope that the children can use this opportunity to the fullest. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and gather as much information as possible, because this is the first step towards a brighter future,” she said.
Samira also added that MA Generasi Muslim Cendekia is a newly established educational unit under the Generasi Muslim Cendekia Foundation, focusing on the field of science with the aspiration of nurturing young Muslim generations who are accomplished and possess strong character.
The visit was highly interactive and filled with enthusiasm. The students participated in a campus orientation session, listened to presentations delivered by university representatives, and toured several University of Mataram facilities. The event concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing the spirit of collaboration between the University of Mataram and the Generasi Muslim Cendekia Foundation.
