Sportsmanship and Togetherness Highlight the Badminton Tournament for the 44th Anniversary of FKIP Unram

Mataram, University of Mataram – A spirit of enthusiasm and sportsmanship filled the atmosphere at the Badminton Tournament held to commemorate the 44th Anniversary of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram (FKIP Unram). The event took place over two days, from November 10–11, 2025, at Wawa Arena Sport, Mataram City, and was officially opened by the Dean of FKIP Unram.
The tournament, which featured lecturers and educational staff from FKIP Unram, included two categories — men’s doubles and women’s doubles — using a knockout system. Each team competed with great energy to advance to the next round, creating a competitive yet friendly and supportive atmosphere.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FKIP Unram, Drs. Lalu Zulkifli, M.Si., Ph.D., emphasized that the tournament was not only a part of the anniversary celebration but also a means to strengthen the sense of togetherness within the faculty.
“This kind of sports activity reflects our true spirit of unity. It not only promotes physical well-being but also strengthens emotional bonds among lecturers and staff. This is the FKIP spirit we are proud of — achieving excellence, staying healthy, and being united,” he said enthusiastically.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 44th FKIP Unram Anniversary Committee, Hapipi, S.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that the tournament embodied collaborative values in education.
“We designed this event not merely as a competition, but as a space for connection and togetherness. We want to show that behind our academic routines, we can also enjoy ourselves and engage in sports with full sportsmanship,” he stated.
The matches were lively and entertaining, with enthusiastic cheers from colleagues supporting their favorite teams. The excitement of the audience and the joy of the participants added to the festive atmosphere of FKIP Unram’s 44th Anniversary, which carried the theme: “Synergy of FKIP University of Mataram’s Academic Community: Spreading Science and Technology, Nurturing Values, Creating Impact for the Nation.”
The tournament will continue until November 11, 2025, featuring semifinal and final rounds expected to showcase intense competition between the best teams from each group. The organizing committee hopes the event will become an annual tradition that continues to promote physical fitness and strengthen camaraderie within FKIP Unram.
“FKIP Unram is not only a place to educate outstanding future teachers but also a healthy and united community. May this spirit of sportsmanship continue to thrive in every step of our journey,” concluded the Dean of FKIP Unram.
