UPN “Veteran” Jakarta Benchmarking Budget Planning at Unram

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) received a visit from the National Development University (UPN) “Veteran” Jakarta in the context of benchmarking budget planning activities. This activity took place in the Unram Rector’s Meeting Room on Tuesday (25/11).
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si., as Vice Rector for PKU UPN “Veteran” Jakarta and her staff. Through internal research and studies, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta found that Unram is considered one of the universities with good teaching and management practices, based on information they obtained from various sources, including the internet. Therefore, they wanted to learn first-hand how Unram carries out the budget planning process effectively.
“We came to University of Mataram because we feel that we still have a lot to learn. There are many things we want to learn, especially how governance and budget management are carried out here,” said the Vice Rector for PKU UPN “Veteran” Jakarta.
During the meeting, she also acknowledged that there were still many things that needed to be improved in their environment, especially in terms of work effectiveness. They highlighted that work that ideally takes six months often has to be completed in only two months, which has the potential to cause various mistakes, both visible and invisible to the public.
Representing Unram was the Vice Rector for Finance and General Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sukardi, S.Pd., M.Pd., along with his staff. The visit was warmly welcomed, and Prof. Sukardi expressed his commitment to sharing experiences, best practices, and budget management strategies that have been implemented. Through this benchmarking activity, it is hoped that both universities can strengthen their governance and improve the quality of educational services.
