1228 New Student of Unram SNBP Pathway Enliven PKKMB 2024
Mataram, University of Mataram – 1228 new students of the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway of University of Mataram (Unram) attending the Introduction of New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) at the M. Yusuf Abubakar Auditorium for three days from July 16 to July 18, 2024.
The 1228 new students consist of 307 students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), 205 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), 156 students from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), 140 students from the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta), 172 students from the Faculty of Law, Social and Political Sciences (FHISIP).
61 students from Faculty of Animal Science (Faterna), 63 students from Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), 55 students from Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry (Fatepa), and 69 students from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T. in his speech said that PKKMB is a forum for leaders in higher education in order to introduce and prepare new students to become mature and independent students. Students can understand and recognize the new environment, especially the organization and structure of universities, learning systems, and student affairs.
PKKMB also aims to improve the insight of nation, state and nationalism and love for the country in new students. Students understand the importance of education taken in the form of character education, competency building for the benefit of the nation and are able to apply it in daily life. The creation of friendship and kinship between students, lecturers, and education staff as well as the creation of students who always prioritize their attitude as an intellectual and the creation of an agile and resilient education.
“You are accepted here not just by chance, you are all cadre to become intellectual candidates for the advancement of the Indonesian nation. My message is to prepare mentally, physically, spiritually, and everything that supports your success. You must be ready to gain knowledge at Unram,” he concluded.
Rector of Unram Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D. in his speech said that Unram SNBP students are the best students who have passed through a rigorous selection.
“You are the best students who have passed a very strict selection and can enter Unram through the achievement pathway. Students who pass the super tight route, meaning that you are the best among the best,” said Prof. Bambang.
Through this opportunity, the Rector of Unram representing the entire Unram academic community also said welcome and congratulations on joining Unram, a university ranked 19th in Indonesia according to QS World University.
“Although we are still PTN BLU, we have been able to beat 4 PTN BH. There are 22 PTN BH universities and around 35 PTN BLU. We are PTN BLU ranked 19th in QS World University Ranking. Unram has also just received an award for the third rank of PTN BLU according to the Main Performance Indicators,” he concluded.
Prof. Bambang also explained Unram’s other achievements, becoming an Informative University for public information transparency, which shows that Unram has opened information to the public based on the required parameters. Unram is also in the 22nd position of the Best PTN in Indonesia according to the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2024 and is the best university in West Nusa Tenggara.
Furthermore, the Rector of Unram explained that Unram’s vision is Unram towards a superior university with global competitiveness.
“Unram will provide the best for you, what is your hope to get knowledge, skills, and so on we try to provide the best,” he concluded.
