“Be Agents of Changes” – Message from the Rector of Unram to the Class of 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) officially conferred 1,175 graduates at the graduation ceremony held at the M. Yusuf Abu Bakar Auditorium Building on Thursday (26/6). This second graduation ceremony of 2025 graduated 4 Doctorates, 96 Master’s degrees, 984 Bachelor’s degrees, and 91 Diplomas from various faculties.
The Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., in his speech extended congratulations to the graduates and their attending families. “On behalf of the entire academic community of the University of Mataram, I extend my congratulations to the graduates and their families,” said the Rector of Unram.
Out of the total 1,175 graduates, the Faculty of Education and Educational Sciences (FKIP) had the highest number of graduates with 279; followed by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) with 256; the Faculty of Law, Social Sciences, and Political Sciences (FHISIP) with 193; the Faculty of Agriculture (Faperta) with 87; the Faculty of Engineering (FT) with 65 graduates; the Faculty of Animal Science (Faterna) with 45 graduates; the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) with 36 graduates; the Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry (Fatepa) with 21 graduates; and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) with 2 graduates.
In his speech, the Rector of Unram emphasised that graduation is not the end of everything, but rather the first step in applying knowledge. “Dear graduates whom I am proud of, graduation is not the end of everything. On the other hand, graduation is the first step in applying the knowledge you have gained at this beloved campus,” stated Prof. Bambang.
The Rector also urged the graduates to use the knowledge they have acquired to assist various sectors. “Use your knowledge to help society, the business world, industry, government, and other partners in addressing the increasingly complex challenges of the future,” he added.
The Rector delivered a special message to the graduates, urging them to become agents of change for the nation. “Dear graduates of Unram, continue to uphold the good name of your alma mater. Wherever you may be, become agents of change for this nation through hard work, creativity, discipline, and upholding the values of integrity,” said Prof. Bambang.
Furthermore, the Rector emphasised the importance of soft skills over academic grades alone. “Success is not determined by GPA alone or the university’s reputation, but by the soft skills you possess, such as honesty, discipline, social intelligence, leadership, a competitive and creative personality. Thats what will determine your success in the future,” concluded the Unram Rector.
