Career Development Unit of UIN Pekalongan Visits BKPK Unram: Strengthening Career Service Governance

Mataram, University of Mataram — On Friday, 14 November 2025, the Academic Support Unit for Counseling and Career Development (UPA BKPK) of the University of Mataram (Unram) welcomed a study visit from the Career Development Technical Implementation Unit (UPT PK) of UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. The visit was conducted as part of efforts to enhance the quality of career development services and improve the effectiveness of career center governance within higher education institutions.
Dr. Siti Mumun Muniroh, M.A., Head of UPT PK UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan, together with her delegation, aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the career service system implemented by UPA BKPK Unram. The visit also focused on learning about strategic approaches to program development, activity management, and the adoption of best practices to support career readiness among students and alumni.
Key Focus: Tracer Study Management and Flagship Programs
The discussion took place in a warm and productive atmosphere, serving as an opportunity for both institutions to exchange experiences. One of the main topics highlighted was the management of tracer studies. UPA BKPK Unram delivered a detailed presentation outlining planning methods, strategies for increasing alumni response rates, and the utilization of tracer study data to support quality assurance systems and curriculum evaluation.
The delegation from UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan expressed great enthusiasm, acknowledging that tracer studies play a crucial role in capturing alumni outcomes and assessing the relevance of higher education to workforce needs.
In addition to tracer study management, UPA BKPK Unram also presented a number of flagship programs, including:
1. Career coaching and student soft skills development.
2. Recruitment activities, campus hiring, and job fairs.
3. Counseling services and mental health programs.
The representatives from UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan conveyed their appreciation for the variety and quality of Unram’s programs, noting that these initiatives could serve as an important reference for enhancing their own career center.
