Collaboration Between Universities: Summer Dispatch Program Strengthens International Cooperation ‌

Mataram, Universitas Mataram – The Closing Ceremony of Summer Dispatch between Universitas Mataram (Unram), Seoul National University (SNU), and Universitas Nasional (UNAS) with the theme “Culture Concert Shining Hari” took place lively on Wednesday (24/7) at the Concert Hall, Taman Budaya Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat.

The event was attended by SNU representatives including Prof. Taekyoon Kim, Director of SNUSR; Prof. Hojung Kim; Prof. Munseo Park; Program Manager, Sojeong Choi; Program Staff, Youngae Lee; students from SNU; representatives of Unas lecturers and students. In addition, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs & Alumni of Unram, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T. and Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, & Information Systems Prof. Akmaluddin, ST., M.Sc. (Eng), Ph.D. and several officials in Unram also enlivened this activity.

The event started with remarks from Prof. Taekyoon Kim as Director of SNUSR who thanked all parties for their participation in this Summer Dispatch activity. Prof. Taekyoon also emphasized the importance of international collaboration in education to enrich the insight and experience of students. Then continued by remarks from Prof. Akmaluddin, ST, M.Sc.(Eng), Ph.D.

In this activity there was also a certificate handover to trainees who had attended the summer dispatch class and successfully pass the course. This training class includes Basic Korean, Korean for Tourism, Korean for Business, EPS TOPIK, and Digital Business Training. Participants graduated after attending 30 meetings of training which ended at this closing ceremony.

Students from the three universities also gave cultural performances. The students performed traditional dances, music, and drama that reflected the cultural diversity of Indonesia and South Korea. The performance was mesmerizing and received high appreciation from all invited guests.

One of the most eye-catching performances was the collaboration between Unram and SNU students in performing traditional Indonesian and traditional South Korean dances as well as a K-POP dance performance by UNAS student representatives. This performance not only showed cultural diversity, but also the spirit of collaboration and friendship between nations.

The “Culture Concert Shining Hari” activity was closed with a group photo session and prize giving. This activity is expected to be the beginning of other collaborations in the future, as well as strengthen the friendship between students from the three universities.

The closing of Summer Dispatch 2024 was not only a moment of reflection on the achievements of the program, but also a clear proof that international collaboration can enrich the academic and cultural experience of the students. In the spirit of togetherness, the event left a lasting impression on all participants and guests.
