The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ir. Muhamad Syamsu Iqbal, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of being proactive both in academic and personal development activities.
“Students must have the courage to take initiative. Start by sitting in the front rows during lectures — it significantly affects your understanding of the material,” he stated.
The talk show featured two main speakers from PT Astra Motor NTB: Ivan Pratama, Administration & Finance Sub Department Head, and I Nyoman Purnama Jaya, Parts Sub Department Head.
The first session was delivered by Ivan, who introduced PT Astra Motor as one of the largest distribution and service networks for Honda motorcycles in Indonesia. He explained the company’s business flow, organizational structure, corporate culture, and its commitment to innovation and quality service. Ivan also shared potential career development opportunities for fresh graduates through Astra Motor’s extensive network.
In the second session, Nyoman highlighted that interpersonal communication skills are the primary foundation for success in the workplace. He discussed the importance of effective communication in dealing with customers, working in teams, and building professional relationships. Students were encouraged to practice expressing ideas clearly, listening actively, and being confident in sharing their opinions.
In addition to career-related topics, the speakers provided education on the importance of road safety. Participants learned about riding ethics, required safety equipment, and the importance of staying alert on the road. This educational segment reflects Astra Motor’s social responsibility toward motorcycle users, especially students.
Moderated by Ni Nyoman Swastini, the event was lively and interactive, featuring a Q&A session that increased participants’ enthusiasm. Students gained practical insights into the industrial world and better prepared themselves to face job market competition.
Participants also received e-certificates and had the opportunity to win attractive door prizes.
