Directorate General of Electricity Holds Competency Certification for Engineering Personnel at the Faculty of Engineering Unram for the NTB Region

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Directorate General of Electricity held a competency certification for electricity engineering personnel through a special vocational path in 2024 for the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region. This activity took place on Thursday, September 19, 2024 – Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Mataram (FT Unram).

On the first day, Thursday, September 19, 2024, the event was officially opened by the Director of Electricity Engineering and Environment, followed by remarks from the Head of the EMR Office of NTB Province and the Dean of FT Unram represented by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.

After the opening session, participants received technical guidance from the Electricity Assessor who provided insight into the implementation of certification. This certification is an important step to ensure that electricity engineering personnel have competencies that are in line with industry standards and national regulations.

The second day, Friday, September 20, 2024, was the highlight of the certification. The participants took a vocational exam that covered various technical and safety aspects in the electricity field. After the certification process was completed, the event was closed with an official closing.

The certification activity was attended by participants from various educational institutions, including Unram, University of Technology Sumbawa, Lombok Institute of Technology, Vocational High School 1 Lingsar, Vocational High School 2 Gerung, and Vocational High School 1 Batukliang.

This certification aims to improve the competence of the workforce in the electricity sector, especially in the NTB region, which is in line with the government’s efforts to strengthen the national energy sector. With this certification, it is expected that graduates from this special vocational path are able to compete in the electricity industry, both at the national and international level
