Discuss the Potential for International Cooperation, Unram Warmly Welcomes the Australian Consulate General Bali
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) warmly welcomed the arrival of Australian representatives in a Potential Collaboration Discussion with the Australian Consulate General in Bali on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Rector’s Conference Room of Rectorate Unram.
Prof. Bambang warmly welcomed the arrival of Jo Stevens, Emily and Emilia from the Australian Consulate General in Bali. Furthermore, the Rector of Unram explained Unram’s student body and Unram’s achievements in maintaining its position in the Top 19 Best Universities in Indonesia according to QS World University Ranking 2025.
Prof. Bambang on the same occasion said that currently Unram has collaborated with the University of New England (UNE), Central Queensland University (CQU), and Curtin University. Furthermore, the Rector of Unram expressed his hope that this discussion could be followed up with the signing of an MoU and the formation of a working group between the two countries.
“If possible we sign an MoU with the Australian Consulate General and we elaborate the MoU with cooperation with universities in Australia, and if possible we also form a joint working group between Indonesian universities and Australian universities,” said Prof. Bambang.
Jo Stevens as a representative of the Australian Consulate General expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by the Rector of Unram. On the same occasion Joe revealed that this year is 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries so that this moment is very important for both countries.
“This year we celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia, so it is important for us to be here. There will be an Indonesian Australian Cinema Festival with a series of film screenings and masterclasses,” she concluded.
Furthermore, Jo said that this was a good opportunity to come to Unram. Jo admitted that she had noted the points conveyed by the Rector of Unram, especially regarding access to universities in Australia and admitted that she could not wait to see the Aussie Banget Corner in Unram.
“I really want to see Aussie Banget Corner. I’ve never seen it before, so I’m very excited to see it in person. We are happy to collaborate and this is a very good opportunity to promote Australian universities,” she concluded.
The discussion was followed by a visit to Aussie Banget Corner, located at UPA. Unram Library. During the visit, Unram students said they were happy and very satisfied with Aussie Banget Corner, a space dedicated to learning and understanding Australian culture.
