Hearing Meeting between LPPM Unram and the Senate Commission II: Accelerating Research and Service Toward Unram’s Vision of Excellence and Global Competitiveness
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Commission II of the Senate of the University of Mataram (Unram) held a Hearing Meeting (RDP) to discuss the work program of the Unram Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) for 2024. This event took place in the main conference room of LPPM Unram on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
On this occasion, the Head of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr; accompanied by the Secretary of LPPM, Prof. Dr. Ir. I Gusti Putu Muliarta Aryana, MP.; Head of Research Center, Prof. Ir. Buan Anshari, S.T., M.Sc.(Eng)., Ph.D.; Dr. Ir. Misbahuddin, ST., MT.., IPU. as Head of the Center for Cooperation and Community Service; I Wayan Sudiarta, Ph.D. Head of the Center for Quality Control, Data and Information; Head of the Center for Community Service, Dr. Ni Wayan Sri Suliartini, SP., MP.; and Heri Wijayanto, S.T., MT. Ph.D. as Secretary of the Conference and IPR Center; and Head of the General Subdivision, Roni Paslan, S.Adm.
The meeting led by the Head of Commission II of the Unram Senate, Prof. Yusuf Akhyar Sutaryono, Ph.D. and accompanied by Prof. Dr. Agil Al Idrus, M.Si. as the Head of the Unram Senate and several members of Commission II of the Senate.
Starting this activity, the Head of LPPM Unram, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukartono, M.Agr. said, “With gratitude and the spirit of togetherness, we warmly welcome the implementation of the Hearing Meeting (RDP) of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) Program.”
This forum is a strategic moment to strengthen joint commitment in improving the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as well as the institution’s reputation at the international level through the Times Higher Education and QS World University Rankings.
Through the synergy between quality research, impactful research outcomes, and innovative community service programs, the role of LPPM is expected to be able to answer global challenges while providing tangible benefits to society. Equally important, collaboration across universities, both within and outside the country, is key to encouraging the creation of superior and competitive results. It is hoped that the discussions in this forum can produce strategic solutions for mutual progress.
Chairman of Commission II of the Unram Senate, Prof. Yusuf Akhyar Sutaryono, Ph.D. conveyed the importance of synergy between research institutions, lecturers, and related parties in achieving these targets. “This hearing is a strategic step to strengthen the position of the University of Mataram in the national and international higher education map. In addition, through cross-institutional collaboration, it is hoped that we can produce research that is not only world-class, but also has a real impact on society,” he said.
The meeting also produced several important recommendations, such as optimization of schemes, quality of research outputs and, as well as increased cooperation with other universities, both domestic and foreign and industrial partners. All of these recommendations are expected to be a reference for the implementation of the 2025 work program.
The hearing ended with an open discussion session, which gave all participants the opportunity to express their views. With the spirit of collaboration, Commission II of the Unram Senate is optimistic that the 2024 work program can run successfully and provide broad benefits for the entire academic community.
“We will follow up on all the input submitted in this meeting. Hopefully, all parties can work together to realize the work program that has been designed for the progress of the University of Mataram,” said Prof. Sukartono.
Prof. Agil, as Head of the Unram Senate emphasized the importance of LPPM’s position in this RDP as a forum to absorb aspirations from various parties. “This hearing is not just a formality, but a momentum to ensure that the work program designed is in line with the needs and vision of the University of Mataram as a superior and competitive university,” he said.
