LEACY 2-in-1 Facial Wash with Seaweed & Habbatussauda: Unram Students’ Innovation Set to Shine at KMI Expo 2025

Mataram, University of Mataram – LEACY (Lombok SEaweed SoAp Creativity Youth Facial Wash 2in1) featuring the natural benefits of seaweed and habbatussauda, is ready to make its mark at KMI Expo 2025.This innovative product created by students of the University of Mataram (Unram) is set to captivate young audiences with its refreshing, natural facial-care formulation at the 16th Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo 2025, held on 17–22 November at Tidar University, Sidotopo Campus, Magelang, Central Java.
The team is led by Gelsey Irene Eteua, accompanied by members Zara Oktari Surur Asmi, Effi Mujahidah Saniyyah, and Wayan Damar Sukmana. All four are students of the Marine Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture under the supervision of Wiwid Andriyani Lestariningsih, S.Si., M.Si.
Born from the blue waters of Lombok, LEACY is a youth-driven innovation project that transforms seaweed into sustainable skincare. More than just a beauty product, LEACY represents a movement that reconnects people with nature, fostering awareness and environmental responsibility. Classified under the growing stage of manufacturing and applied-technology ventures, this product combines the benefits of seaweed and habbatussauda to naturally nourish the skin while showcasing the richness of local resources.
The team, led by Gelsey Irene Eteua, emphasized that the core focus of their product is the synergy between seaweed and habbatussauda. They noted that many facial cleansers on the market still contain harmful chemicals, while the use of scrubs to help remove dead skin cells is often overlooked. Through LEACY, the team introduces a practical, safe, and natural solution for daily facial care, while also promoting greater awareness of personal and environmental responsibility.
“With the added value of offering a fragrance-free variant, LEACY Facial Wash 2-in-1 has received positive responses from the public,” Gelsey explained.
The 16th KMI Expo serves as an important platform to bring LEACY closer to consumers. Through this event, the team can expand their network, build new connections, and directly test the market. With its practical and multifunctional formulation, they hope LEACY will become increasingly recognized and well-received by a wider community.
LEACY is not merely a facial-care product; it also serves as a medium to encourage the public to cultivate greater awareness of their responsibility toward both their skin and the environment.
