Master of Biology FMIPA Unram Undergoes Accreditation Field Assessment

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Master of Biology Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), University of Mataram (Unram) conducted a field assessment in the framework of accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) on April 27-30, 2025. This activity took place in the FMIPA Unram Hall.
The assessor team for the field assessment consist of Prof. Dr. Siti Puji Astuti Wahyuningsih, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Bambang Retnoaji, M.Sc., who are experienced assessors in their fields.
In his speech, the Rector of Unram, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of this assessment as part of the quality improvement acceleration program at Unram. He said that until now, Unram has succeeded in achieving 24 study programs with Excellent accreditation, and overall, the number of study programs with Excellent predicate reached 74% of the total study programs in Unram.
“In addition to encouraging study program accreditation, Unram is also strengthening achievements in the MBKM-IKU program, accelerating the transformation into PTN-BH, and continuing to move towards a World Class University,” said the Rector.
On that occasion, the Rector hoped that the entire FMIPA academic community could welcome this assessment openly and take advantage of the opportunity to receive input from the assessors.
“We hope that the Faculty can receive various inputs well, so as to be able to accelerate changes towards a better direction. Because the acceleration of change is the key to progress,” he added.
Meanwhile, in her speech, Prof. Dr. Siti Puji Astuti Wahyuningsih, M.Si. said that this field assessment is part of the confirmation of the data that has been submitted by the Biology Master Study Program. For the next two days, the assessor team will dig deeper into various aspects of this new study program.
“We see that the Master of Biology Program has just been established. We hope that the assessment process will run smoothly. We want to explore and ensure that all existing data is in accordance with the real conditions in the field,” said Prof. Siti.
In line with that, Prof. Dr. Bambang Retnoaji, M.Sc. emphasized that this assessment is not a process to judge, but to become a partner in improving the quality of education.
“We just want to help. If there are strengths from Unram that have not been written down, we ask to be completed. LAMSAMA is not here to judge, but to be a partner,” he said.
With this assessment, Unram’s Master of Biology Study Program is expected to improve its academic and service quality, and further strengthen Unram’s position at the national and international levels.
