Mataram University Graduated 1.474 Students for Periode of June 2023
Mataram, Mataram University – Mataram University graduated 1474 students for the June 2023 period. In this period, the graduation ceremony was held for two days, June 21 and 22, at the M. Yusuf Abubakar Unram Auditorium Building.
The rector of Mataram University, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D said that graduation is not the end of everything, but graduation is the first step to practice the knowledge which gained on campus.
“Use the knowledge you have to help the community, the business, the industrial, the government and other partners in solving increasingly complex problems and challenges in the future,” he said.
Furthermore, the rector of Mataram University hopes that graduates will be able to become job creators instead of job seekers, who have creative and innovative ideas, have hard skills and soft skills, and equipped with leadership spirit and strong personality.
“We also received good news last week because Mataram Univerisity students won 2nd place at the National level of MTQM at Jambi University. Not only that, our students also won first place in the pre-conference competition for medical students in Asia and the compotition will hold in Taiwan. And, what has gone viral lately, Ahmad Munjizun, an alumnus of Mataram Uinveristy, a child born in a simple family, whose childhood as an animal herder, has succeeded in obtaining a Doctoral degree at North Caroline State University, USA,” said Prof. Bambang.
Not only students who obtained achievements, Mataram Univeristy itself has been released by Times Higher Education (ranking recognized by the Ministry of Education) which won the rank of 15 State Universities in Indonesia.
“Interestingly, only 2 universities in Eastern Indonesia are included in the top 15 best state universities in Indonesia; namely UNHAS and UNRAM,” he explained.
Not only that, Unram also succeeded in increasing the number of its professors. At the end of 2021, the number of professors was 62 people. From March 2022 until now, there has been a surge in the number of professors to 88 people.
“Unram also continues to increase the number of its international students. From 2022 to mid-2023, the number of our international students are 28 from South Korea, Ukraine, Turkey, USA, Norway, England, Australia, Netherlands, France, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and China with a total of 147 people,” he explained.
Mataram Univerisity is also known for its various collaborations with various universities and international institutions such as South Korea, Japan, England, France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Russia, Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, China, Turkey, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand.
One of the other collaborations built by Mataram Univerisity is the collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Mataram Univerisity and PT. Angkasa Pura I which jointly creates competent graduates related to the Airport Concentration Tourism Study Program.
Director of Human Capital PT. Angkasa Pura I, Israwadi explained that the program combines tourism and airports as an inseparable ecosystem in the field of communication.
“In the implementation of the program, students are not only equipped with tourism and airport materials, but also have been equipped with adequate competencies both in terms of knowledge, skills, and soft skills, attitudes, and attitudes in the fields of communication and language by lecturers and professionals both from Mataram University lecturers and our lecturers,” he said.
Through the social and environmental responsibility program, Angakasa Pura I and FEB Mataram University has collaborated since 2019 to this year to organize a Diploma 3 scholarship program for the Airport Concentration Tourism Study Program in 2 batches where this program is the only Diploma 3 in Indonesia.
