Mataram University Takes Further Action Toward Cooperation on Compass Project
Mataram, Universitas Mataram – Mataaram University welcomed the arrival of Prof. Dr. Achim Schlüter, the Team Leader of the Comparing Aquaculture Sustainability System (COMPASS) Project who is also the (temporary) Head of Department and Chair of the Working Group, Professor for Ecological Social and Economic Systems from the Constructor University of Bremen, formerly Jacobs University of Bremen. The visit was warmly welcomed by the Rector of Mataram University and his staff in the Rector’s Conference Room, second floor of the Rectorate Building on Monday (12/6) afternoon.
Compass Project is a research collaboration between Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology (ZMT), Mataram University, and IPB Univeristy.
Prof. Ir, Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph,D as the rector of Mataram University explained that the collaboration had been carried out by Mataram Univeristy since 2020 and was planned for 3 years, but due to covid-19, the project was extended until the end of 2023.
The arrival of Prof. Dr. Achim Schlüter to Mataram Univeristy to get more information about the implementation of the project and ensure the results of the research that has been carried out. Not only that, he will also give a public lecture at the Faculty of Agriculture to initiate new cooperation based on the results of the discussion.
Based on the results of the research, it is expected that there will be output in the form of policy recommendations to improve aquaculture production in NTB
