Migrant Economic Empowerment in NTB, Unram and Migrant Women’s House Hold Empowerment Summit: Migrantpreneurs Connection Day
Mataram, University of Mataram – The International Relations Study Program of Universitas Mataram (HI Unram) along with Migrant Women’s House held the Empowerment Summit: Migrantpreneurs Connection Day with the theme “Socio-Economic Empowerment of Indonesian Migrant Workers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)”. This activity was the culmination of the Migrantpreneurs Connection Day training event and took place at the Unram Dome Building on Thursday (5/30).
Mega Nishfa Makhroja, MA. as Executive Director of Rumah Perempuan Migran in her speech said that this activity aims to empower women immigrant workers to manage and help with economic problems, and on this occasion also explained some of the work programs of Rumah Perempuan Migran.
“Through this activity we intend to help and access how to improve the economic problems of migrant women, especially in NTB. We have 3 main work programs, namely training activities for 2 intensive months, assistance with access to capital and the introduction of Juang Apps migrants.” She said.
Unram’s Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., MSc.(Eng.), Ph.D. in his remarks said that this activity was a form of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service.
“This activity is one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service, in this case the International Relations Study Program has contributed to carrying out this dharma by creating this activity. Hopefully this activity can be useful for all of us,” he said.
The training was attended by Unram’s Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Akmaluddin, S.T., MSc.(Eng.), Ph.D.; Directorate General of Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Preparation of Policy Materials at the Sub-Directorate of Employment and Transmigration, Directorate SUPDF IV, Wisnu HartawanI; Diplomat Expert at the Directorate of Socio-Culture and International Organizations of Developing Countries, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rachmadea Aisyah; Representative of the International Organization for Migration, Teresa Retno Arsanti; I Gede Putu Aryadi, Soc. Sos, MH. as Head of the NTB Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office; Head of the Unram International Relations Study Program, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sood, SH.., MH; M. Hendra Yadi as Head of the West Lombok Koprasi and UKM Office and Hj. Baiq Qadarini, S.H. as Plt. Head of the West Lombok Manpower Office and 54 ex-migrant women.
