NTB Peksimida: An Event to Develop Potential Interests and Talents of Students

Mataram, Universitas Mataram – Universitas Mataram (Unram) held the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida NTB) at the Unram Dome Building on Tuesday (30/8) – Wednesday (31/8).

The art week with the theme “Strengthening National Character Through Developing Potential Interests and Talents in the Field of Student Arts and Culture” was held with the aim of increasing students’ abilities in the arts, improving student achievement, improving student experience and implementing the Merdeka Campus policy.

The NTB Peksimida which was held for 2 days was attended by all 218 students from all over NTB. Where the first day was the opening day of the event which was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Alumni, and was also attended by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni at Unram, the jury and competition coordinator, Head of the Student Affairs and Planning Bureau, Coordinator and Sub-coordinator, and all participants of NTB Peksimida.

Based on the report of the Chairman of the Committee, H. Faruk, M.M. explained that the final of Peksiminas (National Student Art Week) was held in October at Brawijaya University. The subjects of the competition were poetry reading with 55 participants, 27 poetry writing, 25 poster design, 9 short story writing, 13 color photography, 10 black and white photography, 4 script writing, 4 painting, singing dangdut sons 6 people and women 7 people, singing keroncong 1 person and a girl 1 person, pop boys 9 people and girls 36 people, wrote a play 4 people, monologue 1 person.

“This annual event is aimed at finding the best Peksiminas talents in Malang. In line with the theme of Peksiminas XVI, namely ‘Strengthening National Character Through Developing Potential Interests and Talents in the Field of Student Art and Culture’, said Prof. Dr. Enny Yuliani, M.Si.

The NTB Peksimida competition is also a vehicle for fostering a competitive spirit, developing creativity, practicing honesty and sportsmanship, expanding networks, adding experience, and fostering an unyielding attitude.

“Stay enthusiastic and creative, develop the potential you have and continue to hone your creativity so that the works that are born are of quality, making the best works of art. Therefore, in order to achieve good performance, it is hoped that it is not just a competition activity to seek victory. But it is also expected to be able to grow students’ abilities from all aspects, especially talents and interests,” concluded the Vice Chancellor.
