Mataram, University of Mataram – The IUS journal published by the Faculty of Law, University of Mataram (FH Unram) has succeeded in becoming the first Scopus indexed journal at Unram on Tuesday (24/10). Serious preparations for 5 (five) months made by Task Force Team Road to Scopus, FH Unram have paid off through the leadership of Ahmad Zuhairi, S.H., M.H. as Chief Editor of the IUS Journal and the team.
Zuhairi explained the long journey of FH Unram in building the IUS Journal which was established in 2013. Where in 2018 FH Unram succeeded in making its IUS Journal accredited Sinta 2 for the first time at Unram, in 2021 the IUS Journal of FH Unram was again indexed by DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) first at Unram, and on October 24, 2023 the IUS Journal was indexed by Scopus or became a reputable international journal.
“The IUS Journal is a journal of the Faculty of Law that focuses on the study of law and justice. And indeed this IUS Journal has previously experienced several failures in obtaining accreditation. However, we continue to analyze and improve in various aspects where there are three things that we focus on to achieve this Scopus indexed journal from 2015, namely from the technical side, substance, and management in the sustainability of journal accreditation,” explained Zuhairi.
The success achieved is certainly inseparable from Unram’s support through companion funding so that the IUS FH Unram Journal can be more easily indexed by Scopus. This achievement marks the world’s recognition of Unram, especially for the Faculty of Law.
Zuhairi also explained the significance of the Scopus-indexed IUS Journal as an outstanding achievement, “the benefits of this Scopus-indexed journal are expected to facilitate students and lecturers in managing the functional position of professor”.
“I think the IUS Journal is now indexed by Scopus is a great achievement for all of us, especially Unram and hopefully this will be a trigger for other journals at Unram because other universities have a lot of journals indexed by Scopus,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FH Unram, Dr. Lalu Wira Pria Suhartana, S.H., M.H. was also proud of FH Unram’s achievements.
“Alhamdulillah, thanks to the support of the Rector, vice rectors, and staff, the process has proceeded smoothly. I would also like to thank the team and the predecessor who initiated this journal,” said the Dean.
In addition, Dr. Wira said that FH Unram, with excellent accredited Law Science study program, continues to develop the faculty not limited in terms of journals. Moreover, FH Unram also provides a media team that always ready to report all the activities of the academic community, and now FH Unram is also the first faculty in Unram to have its own weekly news that is ready to be distributed to the all Unram academic community.
