Public Speaking and Presentation Workshop Equips Unram Students for 2025 PKM, P2MW, and PPK Ormawa Progress Assessments

Mataram, University of Mataram – The University of Mataram (Unram) held a Public Speaking and Presentation Workshop as part of its preparation for the 2025 Progress Assessments of the Student Creativity Program (PKM), the Student Entrepreneurship Program (P2MW), and the Organizational Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa). The workshop took place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Unram Dome Building.
The workshop brought together students who received funding from the three programs. along with their faculty advisors. It aimed to equip participants with communication skills, narrative-building techniques, and mental readiness to effectively present their program outcomes in front of the assessment team.
Head of the Student and Alumni Affairs Bureau, Dwi Suswanto, S.Kom., M.M., underscored in his address the critical role of mental preparedness in complementing public speaking skills.
“Developing mental readiness requires continuous process and practice. A strong mindset enables public speaking skills to be expressed to their fullest potential. Beyond mastering the material, students must also practice selecting appropriate words, constructing clear and persuasive narratives, and maintaining proper speaking etiquette. These elements are essential to ensure that messages are delivered effectively and can be well received by both the judges and the audience,” he remarked.
He further highlighted the importance of commitment and discipline throughout the mentoring process.
“Becoming a champion is not only about having creative ideas, but also about motivation, discipline, and a positive attitude in facing every challenge. We want students not only to secure funding but also to achieve excellence at the national level,” he noted.
The workshop featured Eka Putri Paramia, S.P., M.A., and Pujiarohman, S.Psi., M.Psi., two faculty members with extensive experience in public communication.
Through this workshop, University of Mataram hopes that students will be better prepared not only in terms of program implementation, but also in mental resilience and communication skills to uphold the university’s reputation on the national stage.
