Ready to Reach Achievement Unram Sends 11 Outstanding Representatives in Peksiminas XVII
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) sent 11 outstanding representatives in the XVII National Student Art Week (Peksiminas) which was officially opened on Monday (2/9) at the State University of Jakarta Sports Hall (Gor UNJ).
The opening of the art week with the theme “ Merdeka Berprestasi, Talenta Seni Menginspirasi” was held lively and attended by a number of important figures including the Rector, Vice Rector, Head of the Board of Trustees of Indonesian Student Art (BPSMI), Coaches, and students from 30 provinces all over Indonesia.
In Peksiminas XVII, Unram showed its commitment in this prestigious art event by sending its best representatives to compete in 15 branches of the existing competition. The Unram delegation consists of talented students who have been selected through a rigorous selection process at the faculty, university and regional levels, representing Unram and NTB in the national arena.
They will compete in various art categories such as dangdut singing, seriosa singing, keroncong singing, pop singing, group vocal, reading poetry, monologue, dance, short story writing, drama writing, poetry writing, poster design, painting, comic strip, and photography.
The participation of Unram talents in Peksiminas XVII is part of the implementation of the Independent Campus Independent Learning Program (MBKM). Peksiminas itself is a form of developing students’ talents and interests in the arts initiated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. Through this program, students are given the opportunity to show their best work and talents at the national level and interact with young artists from various parts of Indonesia.
The MBKM program also aims to expand learning experiences outside the academic curriculum, facilitate skill development, and improve the quality of education through off-campus activities and is a golden opportunity to hone creativity and foster a spirit of achievement.
In his remarks, the Director of Belmawa of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Suning Kusumawardani, S.T., M.T. said “I hope that this National Student Art Week can create a superior and outstanding young generation in the fields of arts and culture, and be able to boast the name of the nation of Indonesia and in line with the spirit of Independent Learning on an Independent Campus,”
Through this Peksiminas, Unram hopes to strengthen unity and togetherness between universities through arts and culture, as well as to achieve proud achievements at the national level. The achievements will not only make the university proud, but also become a motivation for the entire academic community.
This opportunity also shows Unram’s commitment to the development of arts and culture among students, in line with the spirit of Independent Learning and Independent Campus.
