RRI Mataram Dialogue Discusses Blue Economy as a Solution to Food Security ‌

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of University of Mataram (Unram), Prof. Dr. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si., was invited as a guest speaker at the RRI Mataram Outside Studio Dialogue event with the theme ‘Blue Economy as a Food Security Solution’. The event which took place on Wednesday (22/5) also presented the Head of the Aquaculture Division of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Marine and Fisheries Service, Karim Marasabessy, S.Pi., MM. as another speaker.

The dialogue was held in the 4th Floor Hall of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science, Faculty of Agriculture Unram and broadcast live through the RRI Mataram Official YouTube channel. The event aimed to discuss the potential of the blue economy in strengthening food security and developing the regional economy, especially through the fisheries and marine sectors.

This dialogue event received wide attention from academics and

students who participated in person and through live broadcasts on YouTube. Interactive discussions between resource persons and participants resulted in various ideas and practical recommendations to optimise the potential of the blue economy in NTB.

With this event, it is hoped that public awareness and understanding of the importance of the blue economy as a solution to food security will increase. Unram through the Faculty of Agriculture, especially the Department of Fisheries and Marine Science is committed to continuing to support initiatives that encourage sustainable economic development in coastal areas.
