Sensocio 2023 Examined Community Resilience in the Era of Climate Change.

Mataram, the University of Mataram – Sociology Study Program of Law Faculty of University of Mataram held a national seminar on Thursday, September 2, at Lombok Raya Hotel.

This 4th National Seminar on Sociology (Sensosio) carried the theme, “Resilience of Coastal and Island Communities in Facing the Threat of Climate Change”.

Ika Wijayanti, S.Pd., M.A. as Chair of the Sensosio Committee, said that there were approximately 60 articles from various universities and agencies that took part in this seminar.

Dean of Law Faculty of University of Mataram Dr. Lalu Pria Suhartana, S.H., M.H. In his opening remarks expressed the importance of the seminar’s theme.

“This topic is important to discuss, to overcome the problems that are occurring caused by climate change which can affect health, environment and many other aspects of life,” he said.

He also hoped that the seminar would ultimately provide useful outcomes and the best possible solutions for dealing with problems regarding the main theme of the 2023 Sensosio.

The invited speakers were Major General TNI (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Syamsul Maarif, M.Sc. as Professor of Sociology of Disasters at Defense University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Then Wiresapta Karyadi, M.Si. as Professor of Sociology at University of Mataram, Prof. Dr. Dwia Aries Tina Pulubuhu, M.A. as Professor of Sociology at Hasanuddin University and Dr. M. Taqiuddin, S.Pt., M.Si. as Director of West Nusa Tenggara Conceptions.
