Soil Science Study Program of Unram’s Faculty of Agriculture Undergoes BAN-PT Assessment, Aiming for Superior Accreditation

Mataram, University of Mataram – The Soil Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mataram (Faperta Unram) conducted a field assessment by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Located in the Faperta Unram Hall, this assessment involved two assessors, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Tufaila Hemon, M.P. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Mujiyo, S.P., M.P., as well as a representative from BAN-PT, Tri Sumarni.
In this assessment, Unram Rector, Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., conveyed various strategic achievements that have been achieved by Unram through four major programs that are run simultaneously and collaboratively.
“Unram is truly running and jumping, and we are moving together through four major programs,” said Prof. Bambang. He explained that the first program is accreditation towards excellence, which is supported by large funding. “The program’s movement is extraordinary. Currently, there are 24 study programs that have achieved superior predicate,” he added.
The second program is accelerating the achievement of Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) and Key Performance Indicators (IKU). He mentioned that Unram had made a significant leap, from 27th to 5th in the national rankings, and is now in 3rd position for the PTN-BLU category.
Furthermore, the Rector explained the transformation status from PTN-BLU to PTN-BH. Unram’s current score reached 321.56, exceeding the minimum requirement of 300. However, he emphasized that there are still challenges in increasing the number of superior study programs and institutional income (income generated).
“The fourth program is acceleration towards World Class University. Currently we have 58 digitalization programs as a form of extraordinary transformation that Unram has done, in order to be able to enter international rankings such as Times Higher Education,” he explained.
He also hopes that the assessors can provide constructive input so that the institution continues to develop and improve quality continuously.
In the other hand, one of the assessors, Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Tufaila Hemon, M.P., said that his visit to Unram in addition to conducting the assessment was also a form of friendship with the academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture.
“Our job is to conduct an assessment based on the accreditation instruments set by BAN-PT, but more than that, we also want to see directly the academic process, quality culture, and the spirit of development that grows in the study program environment,” explained Prof. Tufaila.
She also appreciated the progress and achievements made by Unram in various fields, especially in terms of accreditation and digital transformation. “Hopefully, this assessment process can run smoothly and conducive for the next two days, so as to produce recommendations that are beneficial for the development of the study program in the future,” he said.
The assessment activity was then continued with the signing of the official report by the Dean of Faperta, the Head of the Soil Science Study Program, and the assessors, which was also witnessed by the Rector of Unram as a form of joint commitment in maintaining and improving the quality of higher education.
