Strengthening International Cooperation, Unram Signs MoU with Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun
Mataram, University of Mataram – University of Mataram (Unram) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun to strengthen bilateral cooperation in education and research at the Rector’s Conference Room on Tuesday (2/7).
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both universities, marking the first step towards expanding a wide network of international collaboration.
The MoU covers various areas of cooperation, including student and faculty exchanges, joint curriculum development, and interdisciplinary research. In addition, both parties agreed to design joint programs that support academic and professional development at both institutions.
In his speech, Rector of Unram Prof. Ir. Bambang Hari Kusumo, M.Agr.St., Ph.D., welcomed this step as an opportunity to increase international cooperation for Unram students and academic staff.
“Through the signing of this MoU we hope to establish collaboration in the field of research, and if possible we will calculate funds to send one or two of the best staff and lecturers to Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun,” said Prof. Bambang.
Furthermore, Prof. Bambang hopes that if Nicolaus Copernicus University Torun is included in the LPDP list, it is expected to make it easier for Unram to send students to Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun.
“If Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun is included in the LPDP list, it will make it easier for Unram to send our students there,” he added.
Meanwhile, Vice-Rector for Cooperation with social and business environment of Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun, Professor. dr hab. Aldona Glinska-Newes, stated that as the largest institution in Poland, Nicolaus Copernicus Torun University has the potential for cooperation with Unram.
“Our university is the largest university in Poland, equipped with 60 faculties and 18,000 students. Our university is research-oriented and internationally oriented,” he explained.
Discussions on the potential for further cooperation between the two universities were also held after the signing of the MoU. Both parties agreed to immediately start implementing concrete steps to realize their shared vision in advancing higher education and research.
With the signing of this MoU, it is expected that the cooperation between Unram and Nicolaus Copernicus University Torun will be stronger and more sustainable in the coming years, bringing positive benefits to the academic development and professionalism in both countries.
