The Postgraduate Program of Unram with Their Students Are Ready to Develop Tourism in Taman Ayu Village
Mataram, University of Mataram – Postgraduate Program of University of Mataram (Unram) held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) “Pantai Induk Reborn” in Taman Ayu Village. The event was also attended by the Taman Ayu Village Community and officials, academicians, related Regional Government Authorities (OPD), tourism associations, state-owned enterprises, and the Media team on Wednesday (11/10).
Unram Postgraduate Director Prof. Ir. Muhammad Sarjan, M.Agr.CP., PhD, expressed his gratitude to all parties who have contributed to implementing the Induk Reborn Beach FGD.
“I ask everyone so that all forms of input from the FGD participants can be passed on and not just end at this FGD,” he said.
At the FGD, the NTB Provincial Tourism Office emphasized the importance of pentahelix in organizing tourism to connect local government policies and existing conditions.
Taman Ayu Village Head also conveyed several potentials in Taman Ayu village. Besides the beach, there is also the potential for cultural tourism where various arts such as Gendang Beleq, Gamelan, Cupak Gurantang, Weaving and Puppet making exist. With many existing village potentials, there are still doubts in the minds of the community whether tourism can bring prosperity to them.
The Pantai Induk Reborn FGD was actively given input and opportunities for cooperation from the West Lombok Regency Tourism Office, the NTB Provincial Environment Office, the NTB Provincial Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Office, the NTB Provincial Cooperative Office, the Secretary of the Gerung District Head, Academicians, Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), and the Jeranjang Steam Power Plant (PLTU).
