The University of Mataram Student Won Best Essay Writing Award in Shell-Eco Marathon “The Inspiration for the Future”
Mataram, University of Mataram – The student of Communication Science Study Program, Dixie Salsananda Adipraja won the best essay writing award at the Shell Eco-Marathon event entitled “Inspiration for the Future” (5/7). The event was organized by Shell Indonesia Women’s Network at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Kuta, Central Lombok. In this event, UNRAM Communication Science Study Program sent 10 representatives consisting of students across semesters.
In her essay, Dixie tells about her dream to become a journalist who is sensitive to important issues, especially environmental issues. She mentioned that she wanted to be a link between information and society. “I dream of becoming a reliable source of information,” said the 4th semester student who idolizes Najwa Shihab.
“The Inspiration for the Future” is one of a series of activities in the annual Shell-Eco Marathon. This event was wrapped with a talk show concept that presented three inspirational speakers, namely Happy Salma as a figure in the creative and performing arts fields; Nadia Amalia as a figure in finance; and Sapwaturrahman, national athlete.
The talk show was opened by Harry Permadi, Vice President Human Resources at Shell Indonesia. In his speech, he invited the younger generation to do three things, these are to dream, to understand themselves and to find special things in themselves. “We will meet Indonesia’s future golden generation,” Harry added.
The event was attended by several representatives from SMA/K and universities in Lombok, such as Mataram University, Al-Azhar Islamic University Mataram, Mataram State Islamic University, Lombok Institute of Technology, Mandalika Education University, MAN Insan Cendekia Lombok Timur, SMK 1 Praya, SMAN 5 Mataram, SMAN 1 Mataram.
