The Young Lecturer in the Biology Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Participates in the 2023 Lecturer Program with Activities in Industry

Mataram, the University of Mataram – Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram sent Eni Suyantri, S.Si., M.Pd. to become a participant in the 2023 Lecturer Program with Activities in Industry (DBI) which was organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). The program will be followed for 2 months from September – November 2023.

The DBI program is a program for assigning lecturers in certain fields of science at a university within the Ministry of Education and Culture to carry out activities according to their field of knowledge in selected industries within a certain period of time. This program aims to provide opportunities for lecturers to be directly involved in the implementation of scientific disciplines pursued in the industrial world, increase lecturers’ experience in solving real problems that exist in the industrial world in accordance with their scientific disciplines, improve the quality of learning and teaching materials for certain subjects, increasing the competence of lecturers in building collaborative networks, as well as increasing the number and quality of partnerships between universities and industry.

The industrial world chose Oceanographic Research Center of the National Research and Innovation Agency in Jakarta as the activity. The Oceanographic Research Center has the task of carrying out the preparation of policy formulation and implementation, providing technical guidance and supervision in the field of oceanographic research.

The Biology Education Study Program, which has its specialty in Maritime Education, is very appropriate for choosing the BRIN Oceanographic Research Center. During the implementation of DBI 2023 Eni Suyantri, S.Si., M.Pd. was accompanied by practitioners from the BRIN Oceanographic Research Center.

“In implementing this DBI, I was accompanied by practitioners from the Oceanographic Research Center, namely Mr. Yaya Ihya Ulumuddin, Ph.D. who has expertise in the field of Marine Vegetation Ecosystems, especially Mangrove Ecosystems. The expected output of the 2023 DBI Program is research collaboration between participating lecturers and “Practitioners are also expected to be able to give guest lectures on courses that suit their field of expertise,” said Eni.

“The Oceanographic Research Center has industrial standard laboratories and it is very complete. Among them, they are a Botany Laboratory, Invertebrate Zoology Laboratory, Vertebrate Laboratory and many more, I am very grateful to have this opportunity so that I can learn many new things here,” she added.

The DBI program was organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture supports the Independent Campus Learning Program (MBKM), namely carrying out collaborative research activities at research institutions, especially for lecturers. The DBI program also contributes to achieving Unram’s Main Performance Indicators (IKU), namely lecturers carrying out activities outside campus.
