There are 3.018 New Students Participated in PKKMB for the Test-Based National Selection (SNBT)

Mataram, University of Mataram – A total of 3,018 new students of University of Mataram (Unram) participated in the Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB) for the Test-Based National Selection (SNBT) route at the M. Yusuf Abubakar Auditorium for three days from Monday, July 24, 2023 to Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

From the 3,018 new students who passed the SNBT pathway, there are 531 people from the Faculty of Economics and Business, 160 people from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, 361 people from the Faculty of Agriculture, 229 people from the Faculty of Law, 138 people from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Furthermore, there are 353 people from the Faculty of Engineering, 148 people from the Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry, 782 people from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, 130 people from the Faculty of Medicine, 44 people from the Communication Science Study Program, 69 people from the International Relations Study Program, and there are 73 people from the Sociology Study Program.

The vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Sujita, S.T., M.T. in his report explained that PKKMB in 2023 is a forum for new students to get to know and prepare themselves in the transition process to become mature and independent students, as well as accelerate the process of student adaptation to the campus environment.

“The purpose of implementing PKKMB in 2023 is to increase awareness of nation, state, and love for the motherland. Then, the younger students can understand the importance of education that will be taken, as well as character education and competency development, so tha,t it is useful for nation building. We also hope to create family friendships between students and lecturers, fellow students, and education staff,” said Sujita.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Sitti Hilyana, M.Si. as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs also welcomed all new SNBT students. “All of you are a very wonderful sieve. The younger have taken outstanding exams such as scholastic tests, mathematical reasoning tests, and Indonesian and English literacy tests. No one can help you except yourself, so you are amazing,” she said.

The Vice Rector I of Unram explained that interest and talent mapping would be carried out for all new students. This is intended so that the university can find out the talent of students and channel support according to the field of talent of each student.

“Unram has many Student Activity Units, please choose to join any organization that suits your talents. You have to hone your talents and talents, not only in the academic but also non-academic fields,” she said.
