University of Adger Professor General Lecture, Norway: Learning Religious Tolerance in Lombok
Mataram, University of Mataram – The Office of International Affairs of the University of Mataram (OIA Unram) again held a general lecture presenting Prof. Levi Geir Eidhamar and students from the University of Adger, Norway.
The general lecture with the theme “Building Interreligious, Harmony & Tolerance in Lombok” was held in the Senate Meeting Room of the Unram Rectorate on Thursday (3/5).
This General Lecture was attended by students iof Unram from several study programs, such as English Education, International Relations, and Communication Studies. This general lecture aims to provide new insights on tolerance and harmonization of religious communities in Lombok to University of Adger student representatives.
In a speech by the Head of OIA Unram, Prof. Ir. Dahlanuddin, M.Rur.Sc., Ph.D. said that this year is the third year of collaboration between Unram and University of Adger, Norway to facilitate this student exchange program.
“Hopefully the student delegation from University of Adger will get a valuable opportunity while in Lombok to learn about the uniqueness and diversity in Lombok,” he said.
An expression of gratitude was conveyed by Prof. Levi Geir Eidhamar in his speech to Unram for consistently supporting student exchanges from University of Adger, Norway.
“We are grateful to be able to directly study Islam in Lombok as known as the island of thousand mosques,” he said.
This general lecture was coupled with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the University of Adger and Unram. Then, continued with the delivery of material by Prof. Dr. Erni Budiwanti, M.A. regarding Balinese Identity in the Island of Thousand Mosques; Dr. Saipul Hamdi, MA. as a lecturer of Sociology Study Program about Mapping Social Conflict in Lombok; and moderated by Dr. Dewi Satria Elmiana, S.Pd., M.Ed.
